Partnership... a relationship between individuals
November, 2004
The American Heritage(r) Dictionary defines "partnership"
as "A relationship between individuals or groups that is characterized
by mutual cooperation and responsibility, as for the achievement of a
specified goal." Other dictionaries allude to an agreement to pool
talent and resources and to share in the gains and losses.
God intends that His purposes be accomplished through
partnership within the Body, the Church (1 Corinthians 12:12; Romans
12:4-6). Missionary TECH Team continues to fulfill the Great Commission
as we partner with others that have this common goal, enabling them to
be more effective and fruitful through our gift of "helps" (1
Corinthians 12:28), and then sharing in their fruit. Following are
several examples of partnership:
COMPUTER
SERVICES: Chosen People Ministries seeks to establish congregations
among Jewish believers, befriending, evangelizing and discipling. In
September, Tim Meadows traveled to New York to help their staff with
computer upgrades. Tim says, "It struck me how inadequate my ability
would be to help a Jewish person come to the Lord, or to get over some
of the 'baggage' they would have upon accepting Jesus as their Messiah.
. . if I can help the people who can teach and disciple be better
equipped and understand the tools they use, I'm doing my part in the
body."
MECHANICAL SERVICES: The Eckhoffs with UFM have been
administering help at the House of Hope and to Beraca Medical Centre in
Le Pointe, Haiti, reaching thousands of people in this area for Christ.
Recently, the Eckhoffs were asked to consider ministry in the Middle
East and have made a trip to the prospective country. Now as they speak
about God's leading with family, churches and friends around the US,
they are leasing one of TECH's loaner cars. This is not the first time
they have used our services to further the ministry to which God has
called them.
GRAPHIC SERVICES: Rio Grande Bible Institute (RGBI)
provides an academic program in Spanish, operates a Spanish-language
radio station, and produces biblical training materials to assist others
communicate the gospel. The staff serve as missionaries and do not
receive salaries. In early October Graphic Services did a series of full
color banner displays for RGBI. These are a tremendous help to
ministries and are convenient to use, store, and transport. TECH was
able to save RGBI $1,200 they would have spent elsewhere for the 5
displays; we also saved them time and shipping costs.
FACILITIES PLANNING: Hope for the Children International
is making an impact for Christ in Northeast Romania.
Cindy McCarver, President of HCI, was in TECH's office in May, working
with Facilities Planning Services on a schematic floor plan for a three
story children's residence home for HCI's orphans. Cindy related that
their staff had been praying for two years for someone who could give
them direction. Bill Daniel traveled to Romania in September to provide
guidance concerning the layout of their site and a landscape master
plan. "I was humbled as I thought on how the Lord had chosen me to
become a part of this ministry a half a world away," reported Bill.
" ...so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and
individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing
according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them..." (Romans
12:5-6).
The acronym TECH came as a
result of our calling to provide
"Technical, Engineering and Consulting Help"
to missions and
like-minded Christian organizations. |
