Equipment Supplied
June, 2005
Earlier this year we shared several equipment needs
with our TECH Intercessors. God has answered prayer in marvelous ways
and many of these items have been provided to further the ministry of
technical service.
Computer Services have been able to purchase a computer system for
their summer Intern. They have also upgraded and acquired additional
development software (Real Basic) packages. Both items will enable
Computer Services to start a new project, CAMP (Software for Christian
camps), and provide potential for full utilization of programming
staff and a summer Missionary Intern.
Business Administration’s upgrade of the computer at the
receptionist’s desk and the purchase of a headset for the telephone
system make it easier for us to coordinate our service to others.
Facilities Planning Services have been able to buy a new laptop
computer. This will enable staff to take a computer with them to
various project sites and generate CAD drawings on site, quickly and
efficiently, especially while on extended overseas trips. Facilities
Planning Services have also been able to purchase three new computer
workstations for the office, enabling personnel to work more
efficiently, use updated versions of CAD software, and load
calculation programs. These workstations will be needed this summer,
when, with the arrival of new summer Interns, we anticipate as many as
12 Facilities Planning personnel in the office. In addition, the
purchase of four copies of Autocad 2005 LT will equip the newly
purchased computers with current versions of CAD, and allow our summer
Interns to be efficient and productive while assisting on a heavy
workload.
Graphics Services purchased a 48” printer that has capability to print
directly on banners. It will produce superb high-quality,
photo-realistic indoor output, as well as durable outdoor prints and
is profitable for short and long run production jobs. Graphics
Services were also able to purchase sign design and printing software
to use with the printer. This will be a great help and provide savings
for missions as we expand our capabilities to meet their display and
banner needs.
Mechanical Services rejoices in the purchase of three mini-vans (a
2000 and two 2001 models) to replace some of our aging fleet vehicles.
Special Equipment Fund Gifts were not needed for these purchases due
to the sale of the replaced vehicles and other vehicle donations that
were sold. (Donated vehicles are placed in the fleet if mechanically
reliable and cosmetically clean or are sold to provide funds for more
appropriate units.) We serve an amazing God!
In order to provide requested technical services, the Missionary TECH
Team staff must themselves be equipped with necessary and effective
tools. Continue to pray that God would touch the hearts of those who
could give toward the remaining equipment needs, that will enable us
as we partner with sister ministries in taking the Gospel to all
nations.
